Sometimes we have warning that we will become a caregiver; either because we’ve chosen to become so when the time comes, or because the need for a caregiver arises gradually and we can make the choice over time and gently evolve into the rule. Other times, we may become a caregiver as the result of a crisis. If you were to become the caregiver to your aging parent, would you be prepared? Below are some questions to help you think it through. The more questions to which you can answer yes, the better prepared you are. The more prepared you are, the less stressful it will be for you, and the better you will be able to do it.
